What Can We Do For You?

By July 16, 2020Blog

Most people are used to hearing us say that we, as Agfinity, are here to get you the best grain trading opportunities available. That we are! We are also here for a whole lot more! Last time I talked about discounts and how we may be able to help you get the best possible discount rate, if you have to have a discount at all. Today I would like to chat about a few other things that our Customer Experience department is available to help you with.

One of the main things that our Customer Experience department does is keep track of the movement of your loads. Cathy, our Customer Experience Coordinator (CEC from here on to save my poor fingers), stays in touch with our buyers on a weekly basis, or more frequently if needed, to keep us and you informed on the status of the movement of your traded loads. If there seems to be potential delays, CEC will help push to eliminate those delays or make them as minimal as possible. Short of driving the truck herself, our CEC is there to do what needs to be done to get your loads moved. If you are having unexpected delays or are not hearing from truckers when you expect that you should give us a call and we will get to the bottom of it.

Another thing that CEC does is help track down your payments. We know that in a perfect world your grain would leave the farm and the payment for it would appear in your account as soon as the truck had crossed the scales, but it doesn’t work like that. At least, not yet. Each buyer has slightly different payment timelines, which you are presented with at the time of booking to allow you to ensure that working with that specific buyer will meet your needs. Now getting that cheque into your hands according to the specified timeline can sometimes go a bit askew. Truckers may drag getting scale tickets in to the buyer, Canada Post may be a bit delayed with delivery or, very rarely, a cheque may actually fall through a crack somewhere and get lost! CEC works to reach out to each producer around the time that they are expected to be paid to ensure that they have received their payment. If a payment hasn’t arrived, she will dig into the situation and find out what is going on. Typically, it is a day or two grace for our faith postal workers, but sometimes things disappear into the great beyond and CEC will work with the seller and the buyer to get a payment reissued as quickly as possible. If you find your payment delayed prior to hearing from our CEC, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to hunt down the solution for you!

One of the other main ways that CEC is here to help you, and the last I’m going to touch on today, is generally finding you information. CEC will communicate with our buyers and truckers to find scale tickets, unload and payment summaries, and spec measurements for you. If you are looking for information on your loads that you didn’t receive from the buyer or are just feeling like you want a bit more info on your loads, give CEC or your trader a call and we will work to get you what you need.

We are here to find you the best opportunity to market your grain, but we are not going to leave you in a lurch once that is done. We want the process to go as smoothly as possible for you Give us a call and let us know what you need. The entire Agfinity team is here to help!
