The Power of Agfinity: New and Improved

By December 8, 2021Blog

2021, much like 2020, has been another year of challenges, obstacles, and market volatility. As we move into the Christmas season, our team at Agfinity is taking this time to reflect on the past year of business and growth. Much like many of you, we are constantly seeking the most effective and efficient ways to operate.

Below, our team has highlighted some of the ways that Agfinity’s systems and staff can improve your grain marketing experience and increase your farms profits.

Pricing Updates in Volatile Markets

Throughout this year’s volatility, we have found that to give you the most accurate and profitable opportunities for your grain, we often need to hit refresh! For all commodity pricing, whether picked up on farm or self-delivered, please refer to our trade history for quick updates or give our trading team a call to discuss your inventory and marketing plan. If you are looking at marketing opportunities in the future, the earlier you reach out the more help we can be!

Agfinity is Growing

Agfinity’s dedicated and knowledgeable team is always at the ready to help meet your grain marketing needs or address any questions you may have about our marketing process. With a diversified skill set and new region-specific teams, Agfinity is set up now better than ever to provide you with the best grain trading opportunities in your county! If you are not set up to receive our county texts, reach out today to sign up for weekly pricing updates to keep tabs on the markets when things get busy!

The Art of Grain Marketing

Grain Marketing is an art. Even some of the most technologically advanced and connected companies and farms in the industry struggle to do it effectively on a consistent basis. When exploring your options for marketing, Agfinity provides the unique advantage of showing your grain to a wide variety of grain buyers, including elevators, resellers, feed lots, exporters, and processing plants. In addition to finding the best pricing opportunities available, this allows us to find buyers better suited to work with you based on movement time frames, inventory specifications, or payment terms.

How can Agfinity work for you?

Agfinity knows that grain marketing is an all-year process, and we hate seeing producers leave money on the table. The more we know about your business, how it operates, and where it is headed, the better we can help you find the best marketing opportunities to suit your needs. Therefore, we are always on call to discuss your farms current marketing strategies, future growth plans, or to simply discuss the markets!

If you have any questions about Agfinity, please don’t hesitate to reach out so we can answer them. Better yet, you can sit back and let us show you the Power of Agfinity!

Because Farming is Forever

Buyer Brief – by Joseph Billett

December 2021, at long last.  From a buyer’s perspective 2021 was more challenging than 2020 with grain prices at levels we’ve not seen before and yields lower than we’ve seen since 2012 it’s been a challenging year to navigate.

Prices across the board have been high and sellers are holding tight to their expectations and haven’t really had much of a reason to think otherwise.  Corn is coming into feedlots throughout Western Canada but not at a price or amount that has slowed down of depressed barley or feed wheat prices.

Many feedlots are looking for a load or two of feed to get them covered for the next few weeks and through the holiday season.  Sellers and buyers seem to be reading the same game book and that is to sell or buy just enough to have more to market in 2022.  Buyers are hoping for prices to soften, and sellers are watching closely for any evidence of the market coming off.

In the past 2 weeks we have seen more grain being offered, however it is still at high levels.  Telling us that there is still lots of product available and will come to market, but no one is entirely sure of when or at what price.

What has been working for buyers is having a standing bid in place with Agfinity and that bid getting applied as an indication to offers that align with the parameters of your standing bid.  We will send you an email and it will also notify you in the Agfinity Buyer Hub.  It’s a great tool when you want to be notified on any specific product in your area that you are looking for.
